Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures have finally reached a new deal to keep Spider-Man in the MCU, and this is very different from their latest one. The past few weeks have been a difficult time for Spider-Man fans, with the release of Spider-Man: Far From Home, overshadowed by the apparent end of the Marvel/Sony deal. For a short time, it seemed that the wall-crawler would completely leave marvel`s cinematic universe. Spider-Man follows Peter Parker (Tobey Maguire), an orphaned high school student who followed popular neighbor Mary Jane Watson (Kirsten Dunst). During a science tour, Peter is bitten by a genetically modified „super spider.“ As a result, Peter obtains superhuman abilities, including increasing strength, speed and ability to scale walls and create an organic strap. After the murder of his beloved uncle Ben (Cliff Robertson), the teenager realizes that he must use his new abilities to protect New York City. The wealthy industrialist Norman Osborn (Willem Dafoe), the father of Peter`s best friend, Harry Osborn (James Franco), submits to an experimental serum that creates a psychotic and murderous personality. Wearing a military combat costume, Norman becomes a bizarre „green leprechaun“ who begins to terrorize the city. Peter, as a spider-man, now has to fight with the elf as he tries to express his feelings for Mary Jane. This treatment reflected elements in previous scenarios: Stevens treatment, organic web shooters and a villain who incites Spider-Man to join an upcoming mutant „master race“; From the original scenario and rewrite, strange electrical storms cause breakdowns, freak magnetic events and bi-location; of the design of Ethan Wiley, a villain addicted to toxic superpowers and several experimental spiders, one of which escapes and bites Peter, causing a hallucinatory nightmare that evokes the metamorphosis of François Kafka; Frank LaLoggia`s script, a stolen money storm that hits surprised New Yorkers; and Neil Ruttenberg`s screenplay, a criminal attack on the New York Stock Exchange. [6] In 1991, Carolco Pictures extended Golan`s option contract with Marvel until May 1996,[4] but in April 1992, Carolco ended active production of Spider-Man due to persistent financial and legal problems. [21] The original agreement included five films.
Tom Holland`s Spider-Man was featured in Captain America: Civil War and then swung through a series of popular and well-received superhero blockbusters: Spider-Man: HomeComing, Avengers: Infinity War, Avengers: Endgame and Spider-Man: Far From Home. Unfortunately, while Holland was personally registered for two other films, this seems to have been the end of the old agreement between Marvel and Sony. A new deal had to be made to keep Spider-Man in the MCU – and for a while at least, it seemed like a distant prospect. www.barrons.com/articles/sony-and-disney-agree-to-keep-spider-man-in-marvel-movies-51569606462 Disney and Sony have closed in an agreement signed last night. No matter what the backroom`s bad business, when this deal was reached in recent months, it was fans who today earned nearly $8 billion for these five films as an extension of the Webslinger in the films of Avengers and Captain America: The War and Figue`s Footprints on the last two Spideys. Deadline always felt that there was a possibility that Sony and Marvel would come together. Disney already has merchandising rights to Spider-Man over the past ten years. The new deal between Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures includes only two other films. There will be Spider-Man: Homecoming 3, which will be released in July 2021 and will end Tom Holland`s Spider-Man trilogy and another Marvel Mystery movie.
